How it works

Agreement → storm → invoice

1

Set up your sites

Create a snow agreement for each site: how it's billed, its trigger depth and where it falls in the clearing order.

2

Start the storm and dispatch

One dialog sends every site to your crews in clearing order. Crews log each push and salt run as they go.

3

Close and invoice

Record the storm's total, review what each customer owes, and create the drafts in one click.

What it does

Built around how storms actually run

Snow agreements per site

Pricing model, trigger depth, service level (zero tolerance, commercial, residential), route priority, included work and salt billing, set once per season. Draft them from the snow prices you already charge, and renew them for next season in one step.

One dispatch for the whole storm

Start a storm, and every site whose agreement covers today is listed in clearing order. Zero-tolerance sites and sites whose trigger the forecast reaches start selected. Send them to a crew or a person and the jobs land on their route.

A live storm board

Each site shows Waiting, In progress or Done, with pushes, salt applications, material used, hazards and who is on it. It refreshes every minute while the storm is on, and a finished site can be sent back for another clearing.

A crew snow log

On arrival the crew taps Plow, Shovel, Salt, Pre-treat or Haul. Grassly records the time and, when the phone shares it, the location. They add the depth, salt used and any hazards, and photos taken during the visit are attached to it.

Snowfall totals you can point to

Close the storm with the total from the nearest NOAA weather station that reported every day, Open-Meteo's estimate at your sites, or your own measurement. Grassly saves where the number came from.

Invoice the whole storm at once

Grassly prices every site from its agreement and shows anything it can't bill and why, such as a missing rate, an unfinished visit or a storm below the trigger. Then it drafts one invoice per customer.

A service record per site

Download a PDF for any site after a storm: arrival and departure times, the crew member, depth, salt, location, hazards and photos. Once a storm is invoiced its log is locked, so it reads the same months later as it did that night.

Storm watch and customer notices

When the forecast reaches a site's trigger, Grassly puts a storm on watch and emails you. When a crew finishes a site, the customer gets a "snow cleared" email, and a text if you turn it on.

A season report

Storms, snowfall, pushes, salt, crew hours and storm invoices for the season, by storm and by site, with a CSV export.

Lawn and snow on one customer

The same customer, property and invoice history all year. Mowing and fertilizer in summer, plowing and salting in winter, with no second system to keep in sync.

English and Spanish

Crews can use Grassly in Spanish, including the snow log, from the browser on their phone.

Pricing models

Bill every site the way you sold it

Mix models across customers. Each site's agreement decides what a storm costs, so one storm can bill a seasonal overage, a per-push driveway and a per-inch parking lot.

Seasonal contract

A fixed price split into up to 12 monthly installments. Cap the storms included and bill each storm past the cap.

Per push

Every plow or shovel visit your crew logs is billed, whatever the depth.

Per storm

One price per storm that reaches the site's trigger depth.

By snow depth

Price bands like 2–4", 4–8" and 8"+, picked by the storm's recorded total.

Time & materials

Hourly from the arrival and departure times your crew logs.

Snow removal FAQ

Can I bill some sites per push, some per storm and others by the season?

Yes. Each site has its own snow agreement, so a seasonal contract, a per-push driveway and a per-inch parking lot can all be billed from the same storm. Salt can be included, billed per application, or billed per bag, ton, yard or gallon.

Where do the snowfall totals come from?

When you close a storm you choose: the nearest NOAA weather station that reported every day of the storm (observers record snow the morning after it falls), Open-Meteo's modelled snowfall at your sites, or a number you enter, such as your own measurement or a certified weather report. These public totals are not certified reports.

How do seasonal contracts work?

Set a season price and split it into 1 to 12 monthly installments. Grassly drafts each installment invoice when it's due. You can cap the number of storms included and set a price for each storm past the cap.

Do my crews need to install anything?

No. Crews open their jobs in the browser on their phone and log each visit from the job page.

Do my customers hear from us during a storm?

Yes. When a crew finishes a site, the customer gets a snow cleared email with when it was cleared and what was done. On the Professional plan you can also text customers who agreed to texts.

What does it cost?

Snow operations are included on the Starter plan and up. Customer texts and the per-site service record PDF are on Professional and up. Lawn care and snow removal are on the same subscription.
